The Positive Pressure Attack Debate
We will start the debate by featuring a series of three videos that will be showcasing the use of Positive Pressure Ventilation Attack in structure fires. The first, (below) will be a training fire from a Southfield MI Department. The second month will be a video from a Chicago High rise fire. The final month will feature a video news clip from the Toledo Fire Dept. on a recent Fire in Toledo. The jury is not yet out on this subject so your comments are always welcome at: http://perrysburgfiretraining.blogspot.com/

Prom Promise '09
On Wednesday the Perrysburg Firefighters and Twp Firefighters took part in the Perrysburg Schools Prom Promise '09. The mock crash is to symbolize what can and has happened when you drink and drive. The drill took place at the Perrysburg football field and gave all of the Junior and Senior class a sober reminder not to drink and drive anytime, but in particular during prom season. The Perrysburg Firefighters wish all of the Perrysburg students a safe and memorable prom season. Watch below as the firefighters use the jaws of life to open the door of this car.Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Aerial Training
On Tuesday, April 21, 2009, the Perrysburg Fire Division conducted one of its two monthly drills. On this day the topic was aerial operations, to be more specific, deploying the outriggers. the outriggers are the large arms that come out from the sides of the tower. These outriggers are designed to keep the tower stable, by creating a larger footprint. The drill consisted of a powerpoint presentation followed by a hands on exercise. This drill was scheduled from 1900 hours until 2100 hours, however it was cut short by an emergency call to rescue a fisherman from the river. Some of the photos are in the slideshow to the left.

Water Rescue Training
On March 26 and 27, 2009 the Perrysburg Fire Division joined the many fishermen in the Maumee River. The fire division however was there not to fish, but on a training exercise. This training is done annually and ensures that when called upon the members of the fire division will be able to assist anyone in need of assistance in the river. Crews trained on rescues from shore, practice their skill at boat operations, and each member got into the river so that the others could practice the rescue of someone in the fast moving water into the boat.
